The decision published in the Official Gazette dated December 13, 2025, introducing a provisional anti-dumping measure on aluminum frames used in photovoltaic panels of Chinese origin, stands out as a significant development for the aluminum industry.
Hüseyin Seherli, Vice Chairman of the Board of Panda Aluminum, shared his evaluation regarding the decision. Noting that the increasing volume of dumped imports in aluminum products in recent years has created serious pressure on domestic producers, Seherli stated that the measure represents a critical step for the sector.
“As Panda Aluminum, we believe that this decision is important in terms of limiting unfair competition and establishing a healthier market structure within the industry. Such measures not only support domestic production but also contribute to the strengthening of trade and public revenues. In this respect, we foresee that the decision will yield positive outcomes for both the Turkish aluminum sector and the national economy,” he said.
Highlighting that low-carbon production has become one of the key elements of competitiveness in the aluminum industry—especially with the acceleration of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism in Europe—Seherli stated that the anti-dumping measure provides a supportive framework for this transformation process.
“In this period where the transition to low-carbon production is accelerating, such measures strengthen Türkiye’s position in global markets. We believe that the aluminum industry should grow with a shared vision and a long-term perspective. As a company, we consider every step that protects domestic production as a contribution to the sector’s sustainable growth,” he added.
