Hüseyin Seherli, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Panda Group, who manages an intense work schedule with a disciplined planning approach, stated that sports play a decisive role in maintaining the balance between professional and personal life.

While the pace in the business world never slows down, how you manage your time reveals your leadership style. Seherli stands out as someone who manages a demanding work agenda through disciplined planning while consciously maintaining boundaries between work and personal life. Describing how he structures his day, he said: “For years, I have managed the key aspects of my business model through a timeline and structured planning. I make an effort to use every time slot efficiently, from the moment I start my day until I leave work; I also find it more effective and productive to focus on financial and statistical matters in the early hours of the day.”

Emphasizing that being physically active directly impacts mental performance, Seherli said: “I believe that when the body is strong, the mind adapts and follows. On days when I spend long hours in the office, I make an effort to stay physically active by planning my meetings at different locations within the factory. As someone who has made sports a part of my daily routine, I feel more tired and restless during periods when I do not exercise.”

Seherli noted that he incorporates sports and hobbies into his life in a planned manner, adding that he pays attention to the sports facilities of the hotels he stays in during his travels and makes time for cultural or sporting activities. He also shared that he led an active lifestyle during his childhood through basketball and football, and even captained his school basketball team. He emphasized that these sports helped him develop skills such as teamwork, collaboration, and strategic thinking.

Touching on the positive impact of sports on decision-making processes, Seherli stated that discipline-oriented sports such as golf, skiing, and surfing highlight balance and discipline, which in turn reflect positively on business success. He added that focus-intensive sports like kickboxing help him release the stress accumulated at the beginning of the week, enabling him to work in a calmer, more focused, and balanced manner throughout the week. He also emphasized that one of his most concrete habits for maintaining work-life balance is avoiding work on weekends, and that he uses his time efficiently during the week by planning his work schedule with the support of his team.
